Your new role - Sales Planner

 

Global Studios is an exciting new focus for Global – where all podcasts exist under the Global Studios umbrella brand. Whether they are Global Originals (produced in in house at Global), 3rd party shows that Global host and monetises, or our recent acquisitions, The Fellas Studios and Gary Neville’s Overlap offering. 

 

Global Studios is already home to some of the UK’s leading shows such as The News Agents, The Sports Agents, My Therapist Ghosted Me, Stick To Football, The Fellas, Saving Grace, and many more. At Global Studios, we have huge ambitions to grow this brand – increasing our content and the revenue we generate. 

 

As a Sales Planner at Global Studios, you’ll: 

  • Build media plans, with ownership on checking availability, blocklists and costings 

  • Support Podcast Partnership Manager on creating brief responses helping to source relevant audience data, case studies, insight for a compelling sales response 

  • Own the campaign handover to the delivery team to ensure the set up matches exactly what was sold to the client 

  • Join any relevant external meetings to support early conversations with clients sharing information around show selection, explain plans and answer any technical questions the client may have in process 

 

As Sales Planner at Global Studiosyou will split your time as follows: 

  • Scouting, watching, listening (10%)A joy for someone to who loves content. You need to understand what is trending, and what shows are coming out in the future 

  • Creating a pipeline of content to approach (20%)Using your knowledge of the wider Global Studios Content strategy, you will need to create a considered pipeline of shows, and agents to approach 

  • Pitching (50%)We need someone with a hungry, seller type of attitude, who is confident presenting and pitching to shows and agents to convince them to come to Global Studios. 

  • Industry Insight (10%)You will need to stay informed on the UK and global podcast industry trends, competitors, research, and tech developments to identify growth areas. Remain up to date on latest podcast launches, key talent moves, competitors, and partnerships. 

  • Internal strategic work (10%): Working alongside the wider Global Studios team to fully understand the commercial considerations that will be key to your discussions, the Originals team to explore any collaborative work, and other key stakeholders 

  • Enjoy our content (10%): For the eagle-eyed reading this, this takes us to 110%. You will need to be fluent & knowledgeable about our content. We would hope and expect you to enjoy our content in your own time too as part of your wider media consumption

What Success Looks Like 

 

In your first few months, you’ll have: 

  • Agree on, and meet, key listens & inventory targets 

  • Met and established strong relationships with all key and potential partners 

  • Establish solid internal relationships across all areas of the business that support our podcast business including marketing, salestech and editorial. 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • 2+ years of experience in the podcast industry 

  • Solid understanding of ad tech systems and processes, with the ability to troubleshoot issues  

  • Ability to distil complex technical and commercial information into clear, actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Proven track record in building and maintaining long-term strategic partnerships that drive mutual value. 

  • Experience managing complex negotiations and contracts, with strong attention to detail  

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a consultative approach to working with partners and cross-functional teams. 

  • Exceptional prioritisation and decision-making abilities, with a focus on strategic outcomes. 

  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive environment where diverse views and experiences are welcomed and celebrated in your team
