Your Role: Digital Content Producer, Capital & Big Top 40

 

We’re looking for a creative, social-first content producer to join the Capital Digital team. In this role, you’ll be producing content to grow audience engagement and reach across Capital’s digital platforms, as well as working on flagship shows including: Capital Evenings with Jimmy Hill and The Official Big Top 40 with Will Manning

 

As a Digital Content Producer at Global, you will take the best on-air moments, artist interviews, and chart highlights, and turn them into must-watch, must-share content for Capital’s millions of fans. From edits that grab attention in seconds, thumbnails that standout from the crowd and content ideas that are ahead of the curve, you’ll be at the heart of Capital’s online conversation. 

 

This is a full-time role working Sun–Thurs: 

  • Sunday: 11am–7:30pm 

  • Monday - Thursday: 12:00pm–8:30pm 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Content Creation (40%): Create social-first content for Capital’s platforms, optimised for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Edit and publish video clips, packaging them for maximum audience impact. Write engaging digital articles for CapitalFM.com and Global Player to drive search and social traffic, while developing new ways to spark conversation and build a loyal online community. 

  • Talent Amplification (30%): Capture and amplify the best moments from Capital, including Capital Evenings with Jimmy Hill and The Official Big Top 40 with Will Manning. Work closely with producers and presenters to plan and deliver content that connects with Capital’s young, pop-culture-loving audience. 

  • Audience Growth & Engagement (30%): Use data and insights to refine content, focusing on Capital’s digital strategy: strong hooks, social-first storytelling, and starting with the most engaging moments. Experiment with formats to spark conversation and sharing.

  • Better Together: You’ll work alongside the Capital digital producers, video editors, and social team to deliver world-class Capital digital content. 

 

What Success Looks Like 

In your first few months, you’ll have: 

  • Published high-performing digital content that grow audiences across Capital’s digital platforms and sparks conversation. 

  • Consistently delivered compelling social content around Capital Evenings and The Big Top 40, as well as other moments our audience need to know about. 

  • Built strong relationships with the shows’ producers, presenters, and the wider Capital digital team. 

  • Used performance data to shape content decisions and drive measurable growth. 

 

What You’ll Need 

  • Passion for pop culture and music: An understanding of how young audiences consume content and what drives their engagement. 

  • Social media expertise: Strong grasp of trends, hooks, and platform best practice for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. 

  • Data-led mindset: Comfortable using analytics to inform decisions and refine content. 

  • Photo & Video editing: Confident using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop to deliver high-quality visual content. 

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in ensuring every piece of content is polished and on-brand. 

  • Flexibility & Positivity: A can-do attitude to manage tasks under pressure and stakeholder management whilst delivering top results.
